Preparing Young Minds for Financial Independence

Most adults wish someone had taught them about money when they were young. We give Edinburgh's children and teenagers the head start they deserve, with practical skills that last a lifetime.

Why Financial Literacy Matters Early

Research consistently shows that money habits form before age seven. By the time most children reach secondary school, their fundamental attitudes toward spending, saving, and financial planning are already established. The question isn't whether young people will learn about money; it's whether they'll learn the right lessons.

We founded our Edinburgh-based practice after witnessing too many young adults entering university or their first jobs without basic financial knowledge. Credit card debt, poor budgeting, and financial stress don't have to be rites of passage.

"My daughter came home from her first session and immediately asked to set up a savings plan for her birthday money. That conversation would never have happened before." — Margaret T., Parent in Morningside

Our Approach to Teaching Money Skills

Children don't learn through lectures. They learn through doing, playing, and discovering. Our workshops use games, real-world simulations, and age-appropriate challenges to make financial concepts tangible and memorable.

Hands-on activities help cement financial concepts

A ten-year-old running a mock business stall learns more about profit margins in an afternoon than from any textbook. A teenager managing a simulated monthly budget understands opportunity cost in a way that stays with them forever.

Programmes That Fit Every Age

Financial education isn't one-size-fits-all. What resonates with a seven-year-old differs vastly from what engages a sixteen-year-old. We've developed distinct curricula for three age groups, each building on developmental psychology and real-world applicability.

What Parents Say

"We enrolled both our children, ages 8 and 14, in different programmes. The transformation in how they think about pocket money, birthday gifts, and even their future has been remarkable. Worth every penny."

Parent of two, Stockbridge

"My son was terrible with money. Six months after completing the Junior Financiers course, he saved enough to buy his own gaming console. He still talks about opportunity cost!"
